Bella Vita Journeys Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat should I pack?Casual attire and resort wear is the order of the day both onboard and in port. Shorts, slacks, sundresses, blouses, etc., are in line for women. Clothing for men is just as casual. You should bring a pair of rubber-soled sandals or sneakers to wear on deck and a pair of good walking shoes, a sweater or jacket for cool evenings, and inexpensive rain gear in case of a sudden shower. Women may want to bring along a hat or scarf. You’ll have a chance to dress up on several nights during most cruises. In this case, a great dress/outfit for women or suit for men is often worn. What credit cards are accepted on the ship?American Express, Visa, and MasterCard are normally accepted for payment of onboard charges. Can I wash my clothes while on board? Each ship has laundry services available for a nominal fee. What amenities are in my stateroom?A hair dryer is provided at the desk/vanity in the stateroom. Bella Vita Journeys may provide some toiletries including skin care, hair care, toothpaste, etc. Toiletries and other supplies are available in the onboard store. What is the tipping policy onboard?Gratuity will be automatically added to your onboard Sail and Sign account on embarkation day. Are hair dryers provided? What about other electrical appliances?Hair dryers are provided for your use in all staterooms. Your stateroom is equipped with standard 220/110 volt AC current. No irons are permitted in staterooms due to the risk they pose as a potential fire hazard, however laundry and dry cleaning services are offered onboard for a nominal charge. Is there internet service on the ship? You can send and receive e-mail through your own service provider and surf the Web in the Internet Café for a nominal charge. Can I call home?Bella Vita Journeys will have an international cell phone that can be used in case of emergency. There is also a ship-to-shore telephone service available 24 hours a day directly from your stateroom. You'll find a telephone and dialing instructions in your stateroom. The cost of making a call is $7.95 per minute. If you need to be reached by people at home, have them contact the ship directly. What if I get sick while on board the ship? There is a physician and nurse available 24 hours a day while at sea and during scheduled hours of the day while in port. All ships are equipped with an infirmary. Professional services, care, and medications are available at a reasonable cost. The medical staff can also provide medication to relieve any symptoms of seasickness. If you require prescription medications, bring an ample supply, as some prescription medications might not be available onboard or ashore. What are the new travel restrictions and will they affect me on my cruise? The United States Department of Homeland Security has implemented increased security measures on all commercial aviation operating in or destined for the United States. Currently, they are allowing travel size toiletries (3 ounces or less) that fit comfortably in one quart-size, clear plastic zip-top bag to be placed in any carry-on luggage. At the security checkpoint, travelers will be asked to remove the zip-top bags of liquids from their carry-on bag(s) and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt. X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items. Arrive at the airport early to allow extra time to get through security. For a complete list of restricted carry-on items, please visit the TSA Web site at http://www.tsa.gov. What identification do I need to bring with me?The rules and regulations regarding identification requirements for international travel on a cruise ship are constantly changing. To ensure that you have the most up-to-date travel document information, please visit www.travel.state.gov. |
